As you may or may not know, Parkland County Libraries are still "open for business". Most of our programs are now online and many of our services are available by telephone or in a digital format. Of the 33 FREE eResources that are accessible with your library card, the following are particularly relevant now:

Homeschooling and Continuing Education Help

  • Pre-School and Kindergarten TumbleBooks and TumbleMath: Animated characters bring books alive to engage new readers in early literacy and all math stories are accompanied by supplementary materials such as lesson plans, educational games, plus quizzes in order to test and track progress.
  • Pre-School - Grade 4 Early World of Learning: Narrated stories, interactive games, leveled reading practice and visual encyclopedia.
  • Grades 3 - 8 TumbleBookCloud Junior: Early reader chapter books, children's classics, graphic novels, children's audio books and new National Geographic videos.
  • Grades 3 - 12 Solaro: Study help for Mathematics, English Language Arts and Science for grades 3 to 12 that follows the Alberta curriculum and contains thousands of practice questions and core concept sessions. 
  • Grades 5 - 12 and Secondary Education Alberta Research Portal: Access to 69 unique primary source collections (including monographs, newspapers, poetry and more)and extensive resources related to First Nations and Indigenous peoples, the Archives of Human Sexuality and Gender, Associated Press, the Smithsonian, and more.
  • Grades 6 - 12 TeenbookCloud: eBooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, enhanced novels, National Geographic videos, and educator resources that do require downloads, so no waiting.
  • Pre-School - Secondary and Lifelong Learning Pronunciator: Language learning with live tutors, movies, music with lyrics, pronunciation analysis, quizzes, and more! Plus free apps for Android, Apple, and Kindle Fire devices.
  • Grade 10 - Secondary and Lifelong Learning Lynda Online learning courses covering a variety of topics including popular software, business skills, communication, management and more.



Self-Isolation and Quarantine Resources

  • More than just Netflix Hoopla: Downloadable movies, music, television shows, audiobooks, eBooks and comic books to keep you and your loved ones entertained and amused (and possible quiet!)
  • More than just Skip the Dishes A-Z Food America: More than 2,000 state, regional and ethnic easy-to-follow food and beverage recipes for you try and stay connected by posting photos and reviews of your creations on SGPL's Facebook page
